About us

Picture framer Samuel Hirst-Stiling took over the Primrose Hill Framing from his father Chris around 5 years ago. Chris himself had taken-over the business some 20+ years previously.

Sam worked with his father, learning the trade, from his teenage years and through his time at college where he studied furniture design; his grandfather's profession.

Long before Chris retired, Sam was already advising customers on how best to frame their artwork. His experience has grown further since then, as the range of framing jobs has expanded to include many unusual objects and valuable pictures.

His understanding of the framing process is extensive, as well as his knowledge of the range of suppliers and the techniques required to get the best result. As a result the business is able to offer museum quality work and now serves not only private clients, but also artists, galleries and museum owners.

Through this experience, Sam is well-placed to offer advice on how best to frame a certain piece and he over-sees his workshop to maintain high standards of finish on all work.
